If we have done the SEO of our post or article properly then it is very important to use the keywords properly. That's why it's important for you to know how we use words in our articles. And also it has to be understood that how many types of keywords are there, so let us now know how many types of keywords are there.

Short-Tail Keywords

Short-Tail keywords are consisting of one or two words which can be very general keywords. Example: Games, PC Wallpaper, PC games etc. They are much less specific.

People search for such keywords a lot on Google and if your website ranks on these keywords then you can get a lot of traffic.

But it is not an easy task to rank on such keywords as there is a lot of competition on them. So if your website is new or you are a new blogger then you should focus on long-tail keywords instead of short-tail keywords.

Long-Tail Keywords

Long-Tail Keywords that contain 4 or more words are classified as long-tail keywords. Such keywords have less competition than short-tail and you can rank your blog post on Google by using it properly.

For example, "action games for pc free download" is a long-tail keyword that is a less competitive keyword than "pc games".

Long-tail keywords are very easy to find, you just enter any main keyword on Google and press space, you will get suggestions for multiple keywords.

What is Keyword Research?

Before writing an article on a topic, you have to find the keywords related to it, this is called keyword research.

While doing keyword research, we have to pay attention to two main points:

1. What is the search volume of keywords?
2. How much is the keyword competition?

The monthly search volume of a keyword shows how popular it is and how much people search for it. Keyword competition shows how difficult or easy it is to rank your article on that keyword.

For this work you need keyword research tools, some of these tools are as follows:

• SEMrush
• Ahrefs

 

There are many more such tools, some are available for free and some are also paid tools. With the help of these tools, you can easily do keyword research.

What is Focus Keyword?

Such main keywords for which we optimize our posts are called focus keywords or target keywords. we can use more than one focus keyword in a blog post.

If your post is long then you can target multiple keywords in it and rank the same post on search engines for different keywords and increase the traffic of your blog.
